Interview: McCloud & Truex

Nov 06 2024

Caspar McCloud & Renae Truex return with Volume 2 of their groundbreaking album, 'Outstanding In Their Field'. The talented musical duo from the USA talk to Louder Than The Music about how a trip to some of the UK's most historic places inspired this new instrumental album.

When, and why, did the two of you decide to release Volume 2 of your 'Outstanding In Their Field' album?

Renae - We felt led to release the second album. Partly because we had gotten on a roll in creating our first instrumental record that we had extra songs and ideas left over! This tends to happen to us quite a bit in the creation of all of our music. Our work is never done. It also had such a positive response from our audience. They loved listening to the other flavor that we had to offer, henceforth our second album.

Pastor Caspar - Not all addictions are bad for you. I have taught about addictions in several conferences where I was asked to give a presentation over the years, and I recall stating that if you don't think you have any addictions, try putting away your mobile phone and don't pick it up again. I also shared that I am addicted to Christ's agape love and, therefore, want to live a life that glorifies our Lord Jesus. One way I see doing that is by sharing the gifts and talents that he has given us. When 'Outstanding In Their Field' was released this past February, we were pleased to discover how many people were telling us that it was blessing them. Several medical practitioners wrote to tell us that they were using the album to help their patients relax.

There is a good deal of research revealing that listening to music at 432 Hz offers numerous outstanding benefits. For one thing it is believed to resonate with the natural frequency of the universe, creating a harmonious and soothing experience for the listener. However, I like to say that from studying the Almighty Word of God over the years, I have concluded all frequencies are ultimately under his design and control.

Music at 432 Hz frequency is said to be more aligned with nature and can help promote a sense of peace and relaxation. Actual science that is not paid for and manipulated to spin it in the direction its benefactors paid for has shown that there is a positive impact on our overall well-being when listening to music as this. A number of researchers believe it helps reduce stress levels, lower blood pressure, and even enhance our immune system. This, of course, can greatly contribute to our mental, spiritual, and physical health by allowing us the time to experience a greater sense of balance and tranquility in our busy lives.

As you know, I have written and taught the science of epigenetics from a biblical perspective for ages, like with my Book, What Was I Thinking? Several prominent physicians, including my friend and research scientist Dr. Judy Mikovits, have proclaimed it to be a life-changing book. In fact, Dr. Mikovits has recently invited me to teach an online course with her and Dr. Bryan Ardis based on the research I shared in What Was I Thinking?

I find it most interesting that Music at 432 Hz is said to also enhance our ability to focus and concentrate. It can help improve productivity and creativity, making it an ideal choice for studying or working on projects. I find as a pastor that I will often play 'Outstanding In Their Field' in my office whilst I am working on a sermon or ministering to people. It even has a notable effect on our young dog, who is still in the puppy stage. He will settle down quickly when the music plays. I may try that with my horse as well. Basically, it appears that the harmonious vibrations of this particular frequency have the potential to stimulate our brain activity and promote a state of flowing calmness, allowing us to perform at our best. Music such as this in 432 Hz may, in fact help us deepen our spiritual connection through theta brainwaves.

Many people appear to believe that this frequency has a profound effect deep within our consciousness, which allows us to tap into more profound states of awareness as we meditate on the Almighty Word of God. This begs the question for me: If master musician David before he was crowned King, did he play in a similar way on his Harp, which chased the evil spirits away from King Saul? We are all for chasing evil spirits away. Although, I doubt we will be invited and allowed to play where it seems the most evil spirits are gathering these days in Davos, Switzerland, with Klaus Schwab and his World Economic Forum gang as they plot how to rule the world. By the way, I recently discovered back in 1914 they started the German World Economic Forum Society, with the purpose for bring elite industrialists together to create ways to take over the world.

In which case I think our band plays music that helps rally the people together, onward Christian soldiers.

For now if you need a break from the insanity unfolding upon the world stage 'Outstanding In Their Field' and 'Outstanding In Their Field' Volume 2 may benefit as music directed by the Holy Spirit has the supernatural power to positively impact our lives in some many various ways, we may never understand it all this side of Heaven.

Is this a continuation of the first volume, or something that stands on it's own or heads in a new direction?

Renae - I believe that each song has a particular journey for the listener. It definitely does for us as we create and play them. The journey is always continuing and each one takes on a different role and direction to the listener.

PC - Actually, I would say this takes up where the first volume left off sort of like the continuing Book of Acts of the Apostles where the gifts of the Holy Spirit continue to use those true believers who place all their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. My friends, Peter who is a very talented gentleman, as well as musician, has been a great encouragement to us. Peter is incredible insightful and knowledgeable about things going on in our world and was once an inspector with Scotland Yard. After he heard the new album he told me it sounded like we must have worked ages recording it to such perfection. I didn't want to admit that most of it was all done on the first take. I think our engineer spent more time mixing the album than we did recording it, and I think he only spent a few hours at best. My former Scotland Yard friend Peter who is quite gifted in critical thinking skills told me, how he thoughts that was interesting that we recorded the album in just three hours, pointing out how those three hours came from years of dedication, practise and perfection so that we could do an album like this in only three hours.

It's great to see one of my favourite UK castles mentioned in the track listing - Tintagel - did you visit it in Cornwall when you were in the UK?

PC - One of my childhood friends John and his wife Sheena have a family home in Cornwall, and I absolutely love staying with them in Cornwall, walking along the shoreline as a well as those lovely Cornish pasties Sheena serves for tea. Some years ago I recorded a solo album called Revelation Rocker after some DJ called me that, saying my songs were like mini sermons in a memorable melody.

Anyway, John and Sheena took my wife Joan and I to see Tintagel Castle and there are those massive rocks around there and I climbed up one and John took a photograph which ended up on the back cover of the album. What I recall was it was very windy and our wives were not keen on the idea of us being up on the cliff's thinking it dangerous and if we slipped off we see the Lord before our time. Being childhood friends has the advantage of allowing us to regress a wee bit as we were having too much fun climbing about as if we were teenagers. It was also simply inspiring to consider all the history that happened there as they have uncovered an an array of artefacts dating the Romano-British period. As we searched for evidence of King Author and Camelot .

Can we expect Volume 3 to follow sometime?!

Renae - It would indeed be an amazing inspiration to return to the U.K., write a new set of songs (Volume 3), play and touch lives. It’s amazing how changing your surroundings and landscape encourages the creative flow.

PC - Thinking about returning to Tintagel Castle and praying there for revival is probably all it take to get us recording a Volume 3. Besides I often miss my UK friends and family.

What's the next project you're both going to be working on?

Renae - We love playing the beautiful stuff, but we also love to rock out as well! We will be back at it with our full band, Caspar’s guitar riffs melting faces and us kicking the devils butt!

PC - Seriously you don't want to mess with my sister Renae, she's like the Emma Peal of Nashville and also a powerful prayer warrior. We are keen to get back in the studio for the next Caspar McCloud Band album as we have had such a lovely encouraging response to our Immortality and Higher Frequencies albums. We hope to bring more awareness to what is unfolding in this fallen world and help draw people closer to the Lord Jesus.

One of our callings seems to be to help raise awareness about the current events unfolding in our troubled world and help guide people towards a deeper and stronger connection with the Lord Jesus. It appears that an increasing number of individuals within the church community are awakening to the urgent need for fasting and prayer today. Given our recent performance at Rewaken America, we are looking at the possibility of doing a follow-up event called "Stay Awake" as our friend General Flynn suggested.

You've been very busy touring and performing live lately - what have been the stand-out moments for you both in the past few months?

Renae - As mentioned, being in the U.K., the entire trip was touching. People were healed, brought to Jesus, many eyes were opened. On top of that, we had time to sit and create beautiful music inspired by our surroundings. It was my first trip there, and indeed hope to return to continue our work over there.

Soulfest was another lovely experience, having to get to meet so many people, visit and talk with them. We did get to take in the sights and sounds while there. As we tend to constantly be on the move and working nonstop, it is important to be able to slow down and take in the beauty around you.

ReAwaken America was amazing. To be able to go and play for such a positive purpose, given the times that we are in, is of upmost importance. Wake people up! We indeed did on that one.

PC - Touring as we do has given us the opportunity to meet so many amazing people from all walks of life. Playing at Soul Fest was a blessing for us and our friend Kenny Lewis who produces bands like Stryper engineered for us making sure we sounded our best. We have been friends for ages and it was delightful getting to spend time with him. We were in his studio Mix Emotions in Boston Massachusetts and one of our mutal rockstar friends called to speak with me who I hadn't seen since he played with me when I was signed to a major record label. Kenny showed us around some parts of New England where we were performing and it was amazing to me how some of the towns were so reminiscent of towns in England. Of course, logically speaking they would be as Brits started over again in America and built homes and towns in the same way.

Sister Renae and I got to spend some time with Kenny by an ocean village and realised how seldom we get time off to just sit and look at the waves and listen to the seagulls and have a nice cup of tea. I also gave several presentations at Soul Fest and afterwards some of the people told that I had blown them away as I shared a wee bit about triple helixes, transhumanism and how the war unfolding before us today is microscopic.

Playing with our band at Rewaken America was a highlight for us as General Flynn and Clay Clark introduced us. General Flynn gave me a direct order to go out there and rock them and out and go wild and crazy. Got to follow orders! We were told over a million people were live-streaming us. We were overwhelmed with people seeking us out afterwards and encouraging us to keep on rocking for Jesus!!!

Now if everyone of them bought our new album we can continue to help fight globalism whilst sharing the Gospel. I mean if you book us we will come.
