Lawrence Hancock Owes Us Nothing On 11th Album, 'Undefeated'

Mar 28 2025

The smoke has cleared from the award-winning tenth album, ‘See Me Through,’ and Lawrence Hancock owes us nothing on the 11th album, 'Undefeated,' a whole new album praising his ‘Only God!’

Accepting the International Singer-Songwriter Male Album Of The Year in August, Hancock wasted no time returning to his creative process to uncover this treasure.

“I told Lakesha that I felt unusually creative after releasing ‘See Me Through' in June, following my receipt of the Elite Music Awards' Producer Of The Year award.” I usually take about three months between albums. She gave me a look. I had to force myself to take the break!”

The wait is over.
The 13-song album opens the cupboard to musical themes that allow the love Lawrence has for God to bloom from “Casting My Cares” to “All You Have!” This musical narration captures the ‘Undefeated’ status of God in Hancock's life. The emotional journey to completing the album has been one of Lawrence’s most significant challenges. Yet, it serves as a demonstration of the undeniable power of God, as he pleads, “Make Me Greater!”
“Life happens to all of us…for me, it was something I couldn’t easily explain away or work through.” As a result, I had moments when it seemed that my musical journey had reached its peak, and I considered hanging it up. The music just kept speaking to me, and with a consistent face full of tears, I was granted the grace and mercy to get here.”

The early music reviews have concurred that this album has put Lawrence on a trajectory that doesn’t appear to be leveling off anytime soon.
“Lawrence Hancock has always been exceptionally strong with his lyric writing and vocal delivery, but this album truly elevates the instrumentation and music to a higher level. There is just so much to explore, a real feast for the ears. The way the lyrics are layered and the sheer range and diversity of styles, genres, and approaches to making music are out of this world. If you've never heard Lawrence's music before, this is essential listening.”

This listening experience is indeed a soundtrack of hope for those who need to be reminded that God is looking to pardon, granting the opportunity to be “About That Life” and yielding to the cry, “Give Me You.” The time in which this album is released has presented challenges in the nation and around the globe. The album offers a social change anthem, “Love Like,” to inspire the world to adopt a best-in-class approach.

This album invites music enthusiasts to elevate Gospel/CCM music consumption to its rightful place by playing it in its entirety once a day for 90 days, supporting the continuous production of faith-based music by Lawrence Hancock and others.
