Switchfoot Reveal Plans For Ninth Studio Album 'Fading West'

Aug 26 2013

Switchfoot have revealed further plans for their new album. 'Fading West', the band's ninth studio album, is currently being mixed and will now be released on 14th January 2014, contrary to previous reports.

"We have never worked so hard on a project, nor traveled so far for inspiration, than we did to create this record", said the band. "These songs are full of heart, hope, sweat, and saltwater."

Ahead of the full album release, the band will release a special 'Fading West EP' on 17th September available from their website, featuring three of the album's tracks, 'Who We Are', 'Love Alone Is Worth The Fight' and 'Ba55'.

A special physical edition of the EP will be available only on Switchfoot's tour dates and will additionally feature 'Fading West', a bonus track that will not be included on the full album.

Fans buying the EP will automatically receive a complete download of the remaining album tracks when the full album is released in January.

Switchfoot are also releasing their very own independent feature film, 'Fading West The Movie'. Part rock-umentary, part surf film, 'Fading West' is an extremely personal, in-depth look at the highs and lows of Switchfoot.

The movie will be premiering on the band's tour later this year and released online in early December.

Switchfoot's 43-city fall tour will begin on 20th September in St. Louis, Missouri.
