Campbell Sibthorpe Releases 'Pastel Porcelain'
Singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Campbell Sibthorpe has released his new single 'Pastel Porcelain'. The song was inspired by my mother's charm necklace, as Campbell explains, "each charm was a timestamp from a moment in her life, and in the same way, this song is from a moment in my own life where I tried to comprehend that those I’d grown up with and loved were moving on."
Born in Australia but raised in Bristol, Campbell was brought up on the back of three generations of preachers. It was his desire to understand who he was within that landscape that inspired him to write. In 2017, he began to work his way around the city with a distinct knack for melodic progressions and brash emotion. Shortly after, he gained the attention of artists Wildwood Kin, Firewoodisland, and Hannah Lou Clark whilst opening for them.
It was while working as a cleaner at a local school that he headed out to open up for Cattle & Cane on a sold-out acoustic tour. In 2018, when he moved to London, shortly after the release of his first EP Sky Lily and having just completed production on his second, he was welcomed by the folk community and made his mark alongside The Staves, Johanna Glaza and The Magic Lantern. Campbell Sibthorpe has received praise from BBC Intro’s Richard Pitt, Where The Music Meets, Steve Levine and Folk Radio UK to name a few.
