Compilation albums can be a bit like Marmite: you’ll love it or you’ll hate it. Most of the time I find there are a few tracks I like but as a whole the compilation doesn’t work and I'd rather just buy the album of the people I like.
This one won me over within the first four songs. The familiarity of Delirious? Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble is a welcome addition and any CD featuring Rend Collective Experiment’s You Bled (Jesus Loves Me) is one I’m going to pay attention to. If you haven’t heard that song -...

This one won me over within the first four songs. The familiarity of Delirious? Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble is a welcome addition and any CD featuring Rend Collective Experiment’s You Bled (Jesus Loves Me) is one I’m going to pay attention to. If you haven’t heard that song - you need to.
Most of the tracks weren’t familiar to me so this was a great album to get me into some of the people I should already know. Cathy Burton’s Redeemer is a slow, beautiful atmospheric song perfectly suited to her vocals. Al Gordon’s Because of Your Love rocks the second CD into full pace after the ending of the epic My Soul Sings on the first CD.
The second CD then carries on with some real corkers. Aaron Keys’ My Soul Finds Rest (Psalm 62) has a great old hymn feel to it while still managing to sound modern and atmospheric. Matt Redman’s Facedown is a song I have wanted to hear in a long time, after the hype surrounding the album of the same name, and I certainly wasn’t disappointed.
Susan Ashton’s Beautiful Saviour has some great vocals setting the scene for her further two songs which end the second CD.
On the whole, this is a really well put together compilation album. It’s not a case of there being something on here for everyone, which I think is why it works so well. If there is one song on here that appeals to you, you will like the rest of the album, so give it a go.
